This piece is about re entry into the fullness of life. Colour coming back into a person’s experience of the world. I used a lot of light and built up different levels of tone and colour to demonstrate the layered quality of this type of emotional and mental re- entry. I believe it links with the theme of young masters because of the use of light, layering and the serene and open pose of the woman. There’s a vulnerability and nobility in her that I feel is timeless.
