‘America has Lichtenstein, we have Azzopardi!’ - Estelle Lovatt FRSA
A proud London Art Fair exhibitor since 2005, Cynthia Corbett Gallery is pleased to return to the 2021 Online Edit with the special solo exhibition, entitled 35 Years Of Azzopardi: In Art We Trust.
This unique retrospective spans thirty-five prolific years of famous British Pop artist Deborah Azzopardi’s work. Amongst featured artworks are original paintings, offered for sale for the first time in Azzopardi’s career.
The world is familiar with Azzopardi’s artworks, as many of them have been published internationally. Her original paintings are in great demand, and we are pleased to bring to the Fair such rare gems as the Habitat ‘Dating’ series (2004/08), the iconic ...One Lump Or Two? (2014) and Love Is The Answer (2016), created by the artist at the request of Mitch and Janis Winehouse as a tribute to their daughter.
Witnessing the changes in world during this last year, the artist chose to address both the domestic and the professional shifts we are all living through. Her 2020 paintings reflect the oscillation between Azzopardi’s signature subject matter, full of humorous flirtation (Physical Attraction 2; I Just Called To Say...) and more introspective artworks (Balance, Contemplation).
Cynthia Corbett Gallery is also pleased to offer for acquisition several stunning paintings, which may be published in the near future and therefore would become a great investment piece as well.
Deborah Azzopardi is represented internationally by the Cynthia Corbett Gallery.
