Ebony Russell Wins Emerging Creative Award at the Jingdezhen Grand Prize 2025

We’re thrilled to share the news that Ebony Russell has been awarded the Emerging Creative Award at the Jingdezhen Grand Prize 2025, an international recognition celebrating artists whose work embodies avant-garde experimentation and future artistic value.

Nominated by Isobel Dennis, one of the judges of the Jingdezhen Grand Prize, Ebony’s work was recognised for its visionary approach to contemporary ceramics. This prestigious award includes a six-month creative residency at the Taoxichuan Art Studio, acknowledging her remarkable contribution to reimagining craft through innovation, experimentation, and contemporary expression.

Out of over 1,300 submissions from 55 countries, Ebony’s work stood out for its poetic fusion of tradition and transformation — a practice that continues to bridge the classical and the new, the ornamental and the conceptual.

We are immensely proud that Ebony’s exquisite new works are also featured in our current exhibition Sweet 16: Young Masters Retrospective during Frieze Week.
