Anne-Françoise Couloumy’s Painting Featured on Women’s Prize for Fiction Novel

We are absolutely delighted to share the exciting news that artwork by our esteemed gallery artist, Anne-Françoise Couloumy, has been featured on the cover of Safe Keep — the haunting and powerful 2024 debut novel by Dutch author Yael van der Wouden,  which has just been announced as the winner of the 2025 Women’s Prize for FictionSafe Keep was also shortlisted for the 2024 Booker Prize, and we are delighted to see this extraordinary novel continuing to receive such high acclaim.

This exceptional pairing of visual and literary art feels nothing short of serendipitous.
Known affectionately as La Hopper Française by the French press, Couloumy’s evocative interiors are rich with atmosphere, light, and emotional resonance. Her paintings often explore the psychological spaces we inhabit, both physically and internally — making her work a beautifully apt match for Safe Keep, a novel praised for its exploration of memory, silence, and human connection.
Anne-Françoise’s quiet intensity and masterful control of light lend a striking visual depth to van der Wouden’s literary world. The result is a book cover that not only draws readers in but amplifies the narrative’s emotional impact — a rare and inspired harmony between image and word.
Couloumy’s work is held in private collections across the globe and has captivated audiences in solo exhibitions from Paris to London to New York. Her inclusion on the cover of a Booker Prize–winning novel marks a remarkable moment of recognition and a new way for audiences to discover her work.
We are incredibly proud of Anne-Françoise and thrilled to see her art reaching new heights — and new readers.
