Narrative:
Awareness surrounding the healthcare disparities Black women face informed her self-advocacy and action. Amber helped save her own life and the life of her child. The decision to become a mother encompasses personal identity and willingness to bear the burden as well as trying to positively change future outcomes. In efforts of positive constructive change, I am uplifting mothers who have also been diagnosed with preeclampsia and their children who were born prematurely.
