'18th Century Girl' was again inspired by memories of paintings by Mary Moser, Founding Member of the Royal Academy (1744-1819). Boulton translates her memories of Moser’s flower paintings into a vortex of gestural expressive paintwork. Using layers of spray paint, which add surface tension with the soft powdery texture, next to the built up impasto oil paint. '18th Century Girl' is a conversation between the past and present; an exploration of new forms from old images and narratives.
