Klari Reis received her M.A. in painting from the City and Guilds of London Art College in 2004. She is currently painting in her native Northern California where the presence of many of the world’s top pharmaceutical companies and research institutions serves as her muse. In May, The Cynthia Corbett Gallery hosted the first major solo exhibition of Reis’s works HOPE at Gallery 27 on Cork Street. The artist presented an exciting survey of her new work, inspired by science and molecular processes and the show was a resounding success.
Yvonne De Rosa was born in Naples where she earned a Degree Plus Distinction at Federico II University of Naples, Italy, and later a PG Cert. in photography at Central St. Martins College of Art, University of London. De Rosa had her first solo exhibition - contacts- presented by corbettPROJECTS at the Blenheim Gallery in Notting Hill in September 2006 followed in January-March 2007 by a very successful two person show at Trafalgar hotel, showcasing some of the work from contacts.
Stine Ljungdalh received an MA Fine Art in 2005 from the Royal College of Art. Ljungdalh is fascinated by duality – the world made of matter and anti-matter, and the gradual disappearance of anti-matter is proving to be a mystery to physicists. The idea of a shadow self, the sense of the double, is central to her work. Ljungdalh has exhibited in Europe and the United States to great acclaim and her work has been acquired in some major collections. In November corbettPROJECTS will host the first major solo exhibition for the artist at the Blenheim Gallery in Notting Hill.
Tom Leighton completed an MA in Printmaking at the Royal College of Art in June 2006 and has been exhibiting successfully internationally even before he received his degree. Leighton produces digital compositions that challenge perceptions of the urban landscape they depict.. His work is dominated by the possibilities of manipulation within digital photography, and brings the resulting moral issues of fakery and deception to the fore. An October solo show presented by corbettPROJECTS is being planned and recent prestigious collections that have acquired Leighton’s work include Mr A Dalton, the Shein Collection of Pennsylvania, Slade & Newman, New York City and the Sandor Family Collection of Chicago.
