| The exhibition presented by corbettPROJECTS at the award-winning trafalgar hotel, is a collection of works from Marco Bolognesi’s forthcoming book Woodland, published by Bomar Edition. Woodland is a dark & dreamy exploration into the world of perverse beauty. Stylish & chic, yet tortured & disturbed, his photography works on a multitude of levels. Woodland is an emotionally detached study of the human form. Images of androgynous beauties scarred by invasive plant life & cut off by zipped eyes & buttoned lips dominate throughout. By the removal & abuse of the human senses, the artist has created an exhibition that is uncomfortable, yet compelling viewing. Marco Bolognesi is a successful artist, photographer & film art director. Through the mid-nineties he made several films in collaboration with Italian television company RAI, many of which were screened at International festivals & went on to earn him a name as an upcoming talent. His continued success into the new millennium gained him a position in the UK’s ‘New Talents list of 2004’. In 2005 Bolognesi participated in the esteemed Monza Young Artist Biennale - a showcase of Italy’s 30 most important young artists. Throughout 2005/2006, Bolognesi has been successfully exhibiting the Woodland Series internationally. Woodland is the debut release from new, contemporary visual arts publisher Bomar Edition. Launched in 2005 Bomar Edition is a publishing house run by artists, for artists and founded by Italian born Tiziana Silvestre. This unique publishing venture aims to provide an affordable promotional facility for both professional & amateur artists around the world. corbettPROJECTS was launched in 2004 by The Cynthia Corbett Gallery and focuses on exhibiting young, emerging artists and operates from innovative spaces such as hotels, offices, homes and shops, bringing art into unexpected environments and enhancing the viewers expectation.
